Hikayat — A Variable Display Font Inspired by Thuluth script
While developing TS Thuluth typeface, we explored a side experiment: crafting a display and text typeface inspired by the elegance of traditional Thuluth, but optimized for bold, high-contrast headlines.
Hikayat is a variable font that gives designers expressive control over the stretch and proportions of wide bowls, making it ideal for dynamic layouts and poster design.
In 2026, we introduced a new variable axis that allows users to switch between display and body text.
The font supports both Arabic and Latin scripts. It features a rich set of ligatures and stylistic alternates inspired by traditional Thuluth script, infusing it with a refined yet contemporary character.
